On Wednesday 14th May, a group of Year 7 students took an educational trip to the historic Air Raid Shelters in Stockport.

The visit gave them valuable insight into what life was like in wartime Britain.

The day began with engaging sessions on essential wartime skills such as using gas masks, making do and mending, clothing exchanges and cleaning.

Following this, the students were guided through the actual air raid shelters.

They learned about how the shelters were built, the experiences of child evacuees and the daily operations within the shelters.

The immersive experience allowed them to step back in time and understand the resilience and community spirit of those who lived through the war.
