Sixth Form: Curriculum

Cheadle Hulme Sixth Form offers an academic curriculum with a range of A level subjects.  Most students will study 3 A level subjects over the course of Year 12 and 13, but 4 is possible.  Please click on the subjects below to find out more about the subjects available in September 2019.

Choosing your A levels

The subject choices you make at A level are very important. They will have a direct impact on the course you follow at university, the university you go to, and potentially your future career. It’s useful to get as much information as you can, as soon as you can. The links below will provide you with information about each A Level subject offered by Cheadle Hulme Sixth Form.

Advice and guidance is available from us at our events over the course of the year, or you might wish to contact us to discuss your choices further.  Should you wish to do some of your own research then you may find the links below useful.

The Russell Group

The Russell Group represents 24 leading universities. The link will take you to a useful video and accompanying booklet about A level choices. You can also access the individual websites of the 24 universities from this site.

UCAS is the organisation responsible for managing applications to higher education courses in the UK. Through the Student section of their site, you can investigate universities and colleges and the courses they offer. You will find the Entry Profiles (EP) particularly useful. They provide details about courses, the university or college offering each course, entry qualifications, selection criteria and the admissions policy.

The Complete University Guide

The Complete University Guide is precisely that – a complete guide to universities! The site hosts the independent UK University League Tables & Rankings which give you a good guide to which university is best for you, overall and by subject.
