Cheadle Hulme High School is proud to be the lead school for Etherow Language Network

We are delighted to be working together with the National Consortium for Languages Education (NCLE) led by UCL Institute of Education as one of the 14 Language Networks across the country, building on the strength of language pedagogy, curriculum and leadership at Cheadle Hulme High School and Laurus Trust schools.

Our mission is to re-energise language learning in state-maintained primary and secondary schools in the local area, and build a network of schools who can work together to make this happen!

Funded by the Department for Education (DfE) and led by the NCLE, the Language Network programme aims to increase the number of students studying a language at GCSE and will encourage students to continue to study languages at advanced level, nurturing a lifelong interest in languages.
