Cheadle Hulme Sixth Form students handed over a cheque for £750 to Stockport Samaritans this week following a series of fundraising events at the school.

Members of the Sixth Form Cabinet met Chrissie and Tracey from the charity and discussed the vital work of The Samaritans.

Chrissie explained that the Stockport branch of The Samaritans needs to raise £22,000 each year to keep its local office running. She said: “Donations like this are a really important contribution to the work we do.”

The Samaritans’ representatives are hoping to come into school in the next few months to take part in an assembly and spread the word about what help the charity offers to people who are struggling to cope.
