Cheadle Hulme High School recently joined in with The Big Draw – a nationwide celebration of drawing and creativity that takes place every year. This year’s theme, Drawn Together, was all about connection and collaboration, so our Art department organised a series of lunchtime workshops to bring students and staff together through collaborative art and photography pieces.

The workshops offered something for everyone, from experimental mark making, paper sculptures and weaving, to shadow portraits, textured clay tile making and more.

The atmosphere was relaxed and creative, with many students and members of staff trying out new techniques and working together on shared pieces.

All the artwork created during the week was proudly displayed at our Open Evening, where visitors had the chance to admire the results – and many stopped to ask about the process behind the pieces.

The week ended with a big lunchtime event in the school hall, where a range of art activities were set up for anyone to join in. The hall was buzzing with creativity and it was a fantastic way to round off the celebrations! We’re already looking forward to doing it all again next year!
