Cheadle Hulme High School (CHHS) is delighted with the performance of their Year 11 students in their GCSE exams this summer. This GCSE results day, a fantastic 47% of all GCSE grades were 7 or above, and a staggering 81% were grade 5 and above.

An eye-watering 70% of students achieved 5 and above and 84% achieved grade 4 and above in both GCSE English and Maths, making this the best set of GCSE results the school has ever seen which is even more impressive given the return to pre-pandemic grading.

Ed and Leah, Year 11 Prefects, were thrilled to see top grades when they opened their GCSE results.

Success at CHHS doesn’t end there though, as we say a huge “Bravo!” to our Year 9 students who have achieved fabulous grades in their GCSE French, German and Spanish.

An outstanding 85% of the whole year group achieved grade 4 and above, and 77% achieved 5 or above.

Dave Brown, Headteacher at Cheadle Hulme High School, said:

“This year’s GCSE results are absolutely incredible – we couldn’t be prouder of our GCSE students who have worked consistently hard to achieve these grades. Particular thanks must go to their families who have supported them along the way; their hard work and determination has most definitely paid off!

I would also like to pay tribute to the CHHS teachers as it’s their unswerving commitment and dedication to their students which has played a major part in our success this year. Results such as these definitely don’t happen by chance!

We wish all our students the very best for their Life After Laurus wherever that takes them; their futures are very bright indeed!”

Linda Magrath OBE, CEO of the Laurus Trust, added:

“I absolutely couldn’t be more proud of the students and staff at CHHS who, against a backdrop of increasing grade boundaries and plummeting results, have achieved their best ever GCSE results!

These exceptional results are a testament to the diligence and determination of the CHHS students and the dedication of our staff who, day in and day out, are always prepared to do ‘whatever it takes’, to ensure that our students get the very highest quality academic education.

Our passionate and committed team of teachers and support staff have created an amazingly strong learning culture which has enabled the CHHS students to achieve the grades to open the door to the future of their choice.”
