Cheadle Hulme High School is in the top 15 state schools in the North West, according to the latest Sunday Times Parent Power schools guide. The 28th edition of the guide, published this week, places CHHS at number 14 in the region and number 139 in the whole country, one of the few non-selective state schools to feature so highly.

The annual guide shows the 2,000 highest-achieving state and independent schools in the UK, ranked by their most recent examination results. It features a searchable database.

Because the government decided that there would be no publication of school performance tables this year owing to disruption to exams caused by the pandemic, the tables in 2021’s guide were drawn instead from the outcomes of pre-pandemic GCSE and A Level examinations taken in summer 2019, the last centrally audited set of grades.
