Last night, three CHHS students gave it their all in the Stockport Schools Battle of the Bands.

The competition, run by Stockport Music Service, was held at The Spinning Top and was judged by Seven Miles Out Records and songwriter David O’Dowda.

Silent Echoes, made up of three CHHS students in Year 10, had the crowd bopping as they jammed together in what was their first ever live performance.

The band faced tough competition from local schools, including our sister school, Laurus Cheadle Hulme.

With so much talent on display, the judges had a tough time picking a winner.

However, Silent Echoes were crowned the winners thanks to their high energy set of covers and originals.

Seven Miles Out Records said:

“It was so hard to pick a winner and it was a very closely run thing but Silent Echoes pipped it, a three piece with tons of energy, personality and that intangible X factor.”

The boys are now through to the Greater Manchester Battle of the Bands that will be held at Manchester Academy.

A huge congratulations and good luck to Silent Echoes in the final.

We look forward to hearing of your future success!
